Mid week nacho break: Tardy as hell addition

Gents,

I sincerely apologize for the tardiness of this post. Work has been driving a 2 foot wang into my blogging time and then for some reason I couldn't access the blog. This won't make up for it, but at least you guys won't starve.

First item of business that I'd like to address is officially naming the landmarks of the property we call home for 3 nights (2 for King and Jigs). You guys can argue about this in the comments but I DO feel very strongly about this subject.

The property as a whole shall be referred to as "The Guffey Estate"

The barn that we sleep in shall be called "Memorial Barn"

The deck on the lake shall be referred to as "Gene's Deck"

The lake that we swim in shall be named "Meltdown Lake"

Any mud on the property shall be referred to as "Steve's bath"

Now that that's decided let me just say that my borts are drenched in a goo that can only be caused by one thing....Memorial fever. The rookie jitters still linger, but I come into this year with a newfound confidence in not only my ability to compete, but more importantly to have even more laughs and high-fives given that I know all of you much better than I did going into last year. I'm excited to see an old friend, Dahar, compete and am also looking forward to see Rattsfield, who I beleive created my nickname, live up to the lofty Plundo Memorial standards. I really can't wait.

Lastly, with new friendships comes new freedoms. It is with this freedom that I feel obligated to show those who haven't seen it a forwarded email (and left it unedited) that I received this week concerning our very own Beekeeper. It's a heartwarming tale of love at first site. Enjoy:

HI I HOPE YOU TRIP WAS VERY WELL

MELTDOWN LAKE!!!!!!! Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

And I can't wait to hear about Craigs Mexican. My mom texted me the following when I asked her how the trip was:

"Craig tapped a Mexican but stayed out of jail at least till I went to bed last night"

Other than that I haven't heard anything yet. Way to tap Craig!! Way to tap.

OMG!!!! She was my first Mexican! We didn't let something as silly as a language barrier stop us from a good old fashioned vacation bang. Mind your own business Nacho!!!!

Warriors,

We need to figure out what to do with the Rhino. He doesn't get in til after 11 pm on Friday. Our choices seem to be:

- Someone picks him up
- He takes the shuttle to the GBG Sheraton, where we leave him a car to drive the 5 extra miles to the Barn (which is a $65 shuttle)
- He rents a car
- Someone leaves him a car in the PGH Airport Parking Lot somewhere.

Any thoughts? My gut feeling is that Craig should volunteer to drive to the airport.

MC Balance said...

theres a shuttle to the gbg sheraton? that thing will probably take well over an hour!!!

Crazylegs said...

i think leaving him a car is a pretty good option. anyone have an extra automobile that can drive down with and then ride back with nacho to pick up kingerino at 5?

either that or renting a car are teh 2 best options in my mind.

when does biz land?

The Beekeeper said...

Biz gets in Friday at 2pm.

Biz said...

gregor speaks the truth, i do land at 2, but i can relax at the airport and chill until the king arrives at 5 so people dont have to make numerous trips. im that much of a stud. cinco no bombas HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

Crazylegs said...

well, biz is the least of my concerns to be honest. someone will be available at 2 and traffic wouldnt be too horrendous then. but getting that rhinocerous to the guffey estate ASAP is my #1 concern.

him renting a car would add an additional 45 minutes. plus an additional $150.

the best scenario would be 3 people drive down at 2. 2 leave their cars. biz rides back with those 2 americans. then king drives the one's car in at 5 when he lands. then rhino does the same at 11 when he lands. thoughts?

King said...

I, as an American, love team work. I support that plan. I also support Biz's plan.

I have no issues driving myself back. Especially since rush hour is brutal.

Nacho said...

Just an FYI, I won't be able help in that scenario. I can't get there by 2. I am playing in a golf outing that won't be done until 3. This is fine with me as I now won't have to sit in traffic. I was looking forward to sitting in traffic with king though.

MC Balance said...

how exactly do we "leave" a car - tape the keys under a mirror?

Nacho said...

This by no means solves the Rhino problem, but if Biz is the only one getting in earlier Friday and doesn't mind waiting he can ride with King and I back at 5. What a car ride that'll be!!!!!!!!

Crazylegs said...

didnt you guys leave keys on a car tire one year? could also put them in the gas tank thing. i dunno. it's a headache i know. i'm just throwing out ideas.

Biz said...

legs / nacho,

i am cool with waiting, and someone else can drive down with nacho in a separate car. we leave a car for rhino, then king nacho, biz, and 1 other american trek to guffeys cabin, while making a quick stop at my parents house to pick up the grub my mom will be cooking.

love always,
biz

Jiggs said...

Biz I hope your mom is cooking up some of her famous "hair pie" Wooooooo! +1 for the J-Man!

Nacho said...

Hahahahahahahaha! That's classic J-Man!!!!!

Wedgebuster said...

the J-Man strikes again!!

kevinbowler said...

I'm more than happy to leave my car for him, I can leave the keys on the top of one of the tires, doesn' bother me. Since I'll be getting there thursday, I can go with someone on Friday whatever time we need to, to leave the car behind. Problem solved. The next issue is deciding exactly what we should do on Friday night. I was thinking we could do a mini-Beer Olympics and get that started a little bit later.. We also have the confessional to work out and maybe some interviews for the video. Any other options out there??

bluebeard said...

I like Bowlers idea. Just pick up Biz and King at the same time that way only one car needs to be left behind. Then just tell Rhino the lot/ location. I have a magnetic "hide-a-key" that we could use also.

The Beekeeper said...

So we'll just leave Blower's car at the airport with directions to Memorial Barn printed out inside. Win, Win, Win!!!!!!! We failed at organizing beer olympics last year. There was too much booming enthusiasm to get organized! We can try it again. I LOVE the Memorial confessional idea!!!!!!

Biz said...

wow hair pie, that was solid. id just like to bring something to everyones attention, after a great experience at the big east 2 years ago jigs, rick and i made a quick stop off at a late night parlor of love. at the end of the festivities we flat out asked the hot asian hostess who was a sexier human, me or jigs. she quickly, without thought or any hesitation mind you, pointed at me and proclaimed me to be sexier. so although i may be balding, im still sexy as shit and better looking than jigs. woooooooooooooo

it was essentially a contest for second place, as i was declared numero uno!

Please allow me to take a minute to acknowledge the supreme loss that we in The Memorial community are about to experience this weekend: none other than Ol' Silvertops' sister, Krista Plundo, is taking the plunge and marrying Nick Cordial, a fellow GCC alum. Now for those keeping score at home, Krista has made out with about half of The 2010 Memorial field. Not coincidentally, 1/2 the field is Plundos. So odds are fairly strong that if the O'Doyles were in The Memorial instead of the Plundos, Krista would have gone 14/14! Oh well.

Dahar, Jigs, Grant: I too feel your pain and loss. No longer will we be able to do a bunch of shots with her at an Eddie Money concert and then head to the hot tub. We will no longer get drunk with her at a Christmas Eve party and take her upstairs. We will no longer make out like the plane is going down at Perry's Pub. (I don't know Jigs' story, but I bet it's sweet!)

Krista is a thoroughbread (not like Annette, but still...) and she has served The Memorial well over the years. Best of luck with your married life, Krista! You will be missed!

Warriors and King,

I have been out of the loop for most of the past week, but I cannot tell you how fired up I am for this coming weekend. I've been eating nothing but egg whites, raw steaks, and beer for the last week and a half and I feel like a caged animal right now. All I know is I feel sorry for the poor s.o.b.'s on the other side of the rope this year.

On another note, I appreciate all of the help with the late flight/car issue. I know I am that a-hole this year that got the late flight, so thank you all for all of the help to get me to the barn a little bit quicker. Looking forward to the weekend boys. Alright, good talk. See y'all out there.
