After giving a brief extension to Thunder Dahar to sort out his month of May, we now have the finalized roster. All of our top targets have signed and will be on the mountains in late-May! A rundown of the roster is as follows:

Very solid field. I would be happy to go to battle with any of the above names. We are less than 60 days away from reporting date!!! Upcoming in the next week or so is a Madden-style ranking system to handicap the field.

Hopefully the rankings will give us a lot to post and talk about through the month of April. The next 30 days will seem slow. We'll need to keep momentum and morale at an all-time high to get us through the month and then once May hits the excitement levels are all through the roof week after week building up to Memorial Day weekend! Wooooo!

We'll need to get a post upcoming - not now, maybe in May - detailing when everybody arrives and leaves and everything so that we can coordinate rides. I know far more people are arriving in Pittsburgh/Latrobe on Thursday this year. Greg is trying to get a Pirates game trip set up for Thursday night. More details will follow but keep that in mind if you have not set up your flight/work schedules for Thursday/Friday. Talk to yinz later!

After a long and successful weekend up in NYC, the mysterious contents of the "Lightning Bolt" envelope has been revealed. (Drumroll please) Rick "The Wedgebuster" Douglas is now signed, sealed & delivered!

Did Rick "The Wedgebuster" Douglas finally end his Terrelle Pryor-esque holdout?

This weekend a veteran commitee consisting of myself, Legs, Ratty T, Big SweaTy, and Ricky Tsunami will get together and we will inspect its contents. We will keep you posted.

Justin Credible!!!!

Jeff Cobb is signed, sealed and delivered! This news is Justin Credible if you ask me! Jeff is a highly thought of competitor who has great genes. He comes from the Dave Cobb Spite Tree. Enough said! I had a feeling that Jon Cobb was a pretty sizable domino!

Jeff also has much respect for both the Red Oak Chalet and the Appalachian Mountains. In the above picture it may look like Jeff is struggling to get through Blind Man's Beer. In reality, Jeff is just genuflecting to the Gods of Appalachia and saying a quick prayer to his good friend Justin Credible. Welcome aboard, Jeff!!!!

Bustin' Wedges: Who's Blocking Rick Douglas???

As most of you have probably noticed at this point, Letter of Intent Cover Boy, Rick "The Wedgebuster" Douglas is mysteriously absent from the 2008 Commitment List with a mere 10 days remaining. As a two-year veteran of The Memorial, and a prominent member of the 2007 Committee, it was expected that Douglas would get his LOI in in early February.

What has happened???

No one can say for sure.

However there are quite a few theories out there at this point. Has Dick Rugless robbed Rick of his LOI? Has Dick Rugless robbed Rick of his honor & glory? Are "those colors" running?? Only 1 man can say for sure. This man was a member of Team Mike Logan Y'all in 2006 and Thunder & Lightning (pictured below) in 2007.He is a fast-rising chugger who improved by leaps & bounds from event to event in 2007. Rick is an enthusiasm extraordinaire who refuses to be trumped by anyone. However, we all saw and watched as Ricky D grew from a boy to a man. Under the tutelage of his teammate, Matt "Thunder" Dahar, Ricky thrived. When approached for his opinion, Thunder stated via a statement released early Wednesday morning through his lawyer:

"I am, like most involved with this process, am troubled by the news regarding Rick Douglas and his late decision. I am trying to get in touch with Rick to see what the hold up is. I choose not to comment at this time and would appreciate your respect and privacy in this troubling, saddening time."

The sadness and sentimentality oozed off of Thunder's statement and you could tell that he wants desperately to reach out to his estranged former teammate.

Rick's brother, and current roommate Greg "No Nickname Need Apply" Plundo has been quoted as saying "The Memorial without Ricky Dee is like America without Apple Pie. It's like Thunder without Lightning! I just hope he gets his LOI in in time. Especially this year what with The King coming back! It's a Plundo family affair up at the Red Oak Chalet for cryin' out loud! And Ricky is the glue!"

One last aspect to consider: Resident "King of Sting", the man who will consider late entries is none other than Ricky's super best friend - The Jiggaman. It will be very interesting if things come down to The King of Sting and where his spite may lie if Rick has not sent in the LOI by then. As we're all aware: Dave Cobb did not raise spiteless sons!
